EZ KLEEN ALUMINUM BRIGHTENER is a phosphoric acid-based brightener and pre paint conditioner for aluminum. It is used to deep clean and brightens aluminum substrates for unpainted applications such as prior to welding, or prior to conversion coatings for bare aluminum corrosion protection.
EZ KLEEN ALUMINUM BRIGHTENER may also be used to clean and condition stainless steel prior to paint. EZ KLEEN ALUMINUM BRIGHTENER is best used on 5xxx and 6xxx series aluminum. It may be used on higher copper-bearing alloys such as the 2xxx series, but only at high dilutions and ambient temperatures.
Spray: Clean and condition the metal surface, rinse and dry. The ideal temperature should be between 100-120°F with a contact time of 60-90 seconds.
Immersion: Clean and condition the metal surface, rinse and dry. The use of a conversion coating and second rinse is optional. The ideal temperature should be ambient -130°F with a contact time of 2-5 minutes.
The concentration ranges of EZ KLEEN ALUMINUM BRIGHTENER listed in this section are intended for the majority of line conditions. However, plant variables such as line speed, spray time and part length/style/configuration may require the control points to be changed.
